An agency / coordinator provide you work and make a commission on your fee. Look for genuine agencies/coordinators. Model must have a portfolio and comp cards. Agencies take care for safe environment for models. Always keep copies of important papers like contract etc.

Find reputed coordinator and send your photo and resume to coordinators. Let them evaluate and you will find out very quickly if you have what it takes.  If you get rejected by any coordinator don’t worry, as every coordinator has their own expectation and requirement. Look for more than one coordinator and keep working on it. Always try to attend good training in the form of workshop, local fashion show, print work to gain confidence and experience, provided by these coordinators.

If, you sending pictures of yours through email then send atleast 2 pictures. A head shot, natural and clear and other a full length shot that somewhat reveals your figure, a clingy dress , swimsuit, figure flattering clothes or other tight fittings garments should be worn.

How to become a Model...

First thing you need to have is honesty, honesty to judge yourself and know whether you fit in this modeling profession or not.  You need to have great looks and you need to have something different from others.  You should look good on camera, as it is very important to be photogenic more than looks. 
For a model it is very important to MUST have a well-proportioned body, well-toned and proportioned body with a thin face, good skin and beautiful hair. Always provide very accurate measurements to the agency and to customers. 

Portfolios are more important than great looks. Poor portfolio can spoil your career before it gets started.  Having great looks is not enough; you need to look good in photos. So, get your portfolio by commercial photographer or a very talented armature. So, get great portfolio and then step into this industry.
Portfolio is collection of modeling pictures. Get variation in your portfolio. Try to avoid photos from same shot n look.  A basic but versatile portfolio would have a casual head shot, styled head shot, body shot (conservative swimsuit or lingerie), a fashion shot (sexy), action shot, an editorial shot and even a catalogue shot. With experience you can update your older photos with newer ones.

Model need to pose strong will power and confidence to get right opportunity and should have determination to work harder and harder. Strong will power, attitude, communication skill, etiquette, patience help you to get your desired place in this industry.
